Default You know, my compressor sounds pretty strong so I'm wondering

if in fact the main supply hose (name?) on the compressor leading from chamber to air line supply has come dislodged due to bumps and low ride ? YES, I still think I have a strut issue too.

Second question.
If SLIME is a no no---could I spray some type of electronics of MAF cleaner into the strut instead of slime to see if it leaks at bottom ? My thoinking is this liquid spray disolves quickly and doesnt damage senesetive electronic components. (i used it successfuly to cleam my MAF sensor)

Soapy water will work better for air leak detection. Don't worry about damaging anything. The strut is pretty tough and is designed to operate in a very harsh environment.

Yes, that has been suggested
but here's the issue----pressure.
need pressure to force air through holes or leaks.
right now the suspension is running in like a safety mode. both yellow and green suspension lights flashing.
and car is extreme low and riding on shocks only.
I do here the pump working but it shuts off from overheat. it will burn out.
I am going to recondition it this weekend.

back to PRESSURE.
so if I jack car it would have to remain on suspension to engage the air compressor but I don't think anything is getting pumped into struts
therefore no pressure
no pressure = no bubbles.

Going to get car up today
Remove tire and see if compressor can show leaks
This is total troubleshooting by trial and error

Do you have VCDS scan tool? Not easy to diagnose issues without that.

yes we scanned vcds.
here were codes for suspension.

it's gott be left front strut and now maybe compressor.
but compressor runs somewhat after clearing faults.

If you keep messing about with this you will burn out the compressor.

I would suggest you get fittings to connect an external compressor into the circuit in place of the car one max 16 bar and then test the system as you then can take the time you need to locate the fault.

update:
mine has a belt.
the belt and pump were examined and are in very good shape.
the reason why the replacement of pump and belt can into maintenance schedule, and dont quote me, but there was a new model a number of years ago that caused many failures due to belt and pump
so audi blanketed all belt models to save their **** on recalls and warranty.

with air ride suspension you can see the air struts fail but not that likely counter to what some of the deep pocket posters say out here.
front fails first due to weight and the compressor wears and weakens so works harder to get air ride working.
if your air compressor comes on then its not fuse or relay. those are cheap and easy.
remove your air compressor if you are able and bench test it.
buy a refurbish kit online.
test again. see if car lifts but be mindful to check all other components for leaks so as to not blow the air compressor again.
if it works great ! reinstall then test for leaks of hoses and struts.
most out here recommend a spray bottle with 50/50 water dish soap
yes the air struts can fail too.

In Canada the repair for air compressor, 1 strut, labour, taxes = $3000
$1500 if refurbished route.

DIY would be $50 for air compressor kit and $500 for refurbished strut + your time.
