2015 A3 TDI
It was recently announced in the California Court case against VW that there is a fix for the generation 3 VW/Audi 2l TDI engines. For those that own these cars, are you going to opt for the fix or a buy back?

I had a 2015 A3 TDI and took the buy back. They are still futzing around about the modifications process. I just got a mailing that said second step may not be able to be done until 2019. You have to wait till that is done to get your money. Also in that time you have put miles on that would probably effect the amount you get.
As I said, I took the $27,500 check for my 2 year old car with 89,000 miles on it. Hard to pass that up even though I loved the car.

Audi Care Package
Has anyone with an Audi TDI had problems trying to get reimbursed for their Audi Care Plan? I've been told Audi won't reimburse the plan even though I returned the car back to Audi because of the emissions scandal.

I'm undecided as to which I'm going to do.
The smart money is probably to turn it in and do so ASAP.
With that said, I like the car and might end up keeping it as I feel it's going to be hard to replace. Mine only has 10k on it right now and is averaging a little over 46 mpg over its life. For the $30k-$35k they might give me for the car, it will be hard to replace it with something that looks and drives as good, gets this kind of economy, and should last for a min. of several hundred of thousand of miles like all my previous TDI's did. Yeah I can pick up a new hybrid for this kind of money, but it wont drive or look the same and god only knows how long it would last (and with what maintenance cost).
At this point I'm going to keep the car and revisit this during the summer of 2018. If there's an attractive alt. vehicle for $35k or less, I might go that direction, otherwise I'll take the "fix", the check, and keep on going with my A3 TDI.
One other thing to note. These TDI's have always fetched really good money in the used market and have had stellar resale value. I've owned many TDI's and made out very well on every one of them. With 85%-95% of the 2009+ cars going back to VW, I suspect the remaining few will be worth strong $ in the future should you decide to sell one later on.
