Hello All!

I hate having cellphone charging wires everywhere and I wanted to use the MMI to connect to the car and charge my iPhone. So I bought on Amazon for $7 the MMI to USB adapter and I also bought a USB extension cable. I drilled a hole big enough at the bottom of the bin under the armrest (under the rubber protector) to pass the cable from the MMI under the centre console to the front cubby near the 12v plug... Why did you use the MMI instead of the USB port?

6 inch USB-Lightning cable and the USB port in the console. There's a gap when the console lid is closed that your iphone can sit right there half-under the lid.

I thought that the USB plug only charges were as the MMI allows you to connect to the car radio... Am I wrong?

That is correct, but when connected via MMI I can't stream audio via Bluetooth (Spotify, Downcast, etc), so I never use that cable even though my car came with the MMI-Lightning cable.
