Extending IPOD cable
Has anyone tried extending the IPOD cable from the glovebox to the center console. I see there are extension cords available online and this would make it much easier to connect my iphone to the car. Right now I have a dual setup, permanent IPOD in the glovebox for music, and Iphone over bluetooth for phone. I would rather use just one device. Any suggestions are appreciated if anyone knows anything about routing the cable and/or possible signal loss with the cable. Thanks

This is the one I got: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details
I was using it before I realized how much better audio from an SD card sounds so now I just keep my phone in my pocket or the center console.

I did exactly what you’re talking about. I ran a Cable Jive 6ft cable from the glove box to the center console. It only took me 8+ hours in 85+ degree weather. One reason it took so long I was trying not to break anything. Overall it wasn’t that bad. I did this so I could use my 160 gb iPod and iPhone in the center console.
I bought this cable

I used this post by Tails to help me take out the center console.

I used this video to help take out the glove box, although it’s not the same car it give you a good enough idea of what you are dealing with.

PM with your phone number if you want to talk about what I did.
Although, if you take the time to set up some SD cards with the max 5000 songs, you could save yourself a bunch of aggravation.

So, will the car read lossless or AIFF formatted SD cards? Or, are you saying the sound quality of an MPEG is better somehow through the SD card interface than through an IPod in the glove box?
