Emmanuele is by far the coolest audi dude around. He's he biggest contributor in the AudiZine forums. And he alone has probably pushed forward the tuning of our 8v's more than everyone else combined
I both emailed and called about a week ago. There has been no response at all from Emmanuele. I will try calling again before considering disputing the charge with my credit card company.

It worked without a hitch for me when I did it last month. Plugged it into the port, pressed the ON button to turn on the electronics. The MMI opened up and then closed down, and came back up. DONE!
The instructions I followed were:
Press the ON button before plugging in the dongle
Plug dongle in
Wait for the MMI to reset

After this didn't work, I tried plugging in the dongle then pressing the ON button. For both attempts, the MMI never reset even after ten minutes of waiting.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Latest update. You are right. Once I actually got in touch with Emmanuele (there were probably email issues), he had me do some troubleshooting without any success. He will be sending out a replacement so hopefully by next week, my issue will be resolved.

Replacement arrived today as promised. Plugged it in and worked like a charm this time. Emmanuele has my endorsement! Credit to the Audi community. Thanks!

Totally agree!

Those are the two things i most wanted on my S7

VIM and Sequential Turn signals.

Still trying to find a solution for VIM
will be ordering the cable from KAPTrader

But staying on topic with this thread.

The VIM unlocking will work wonders as far as playing back music videos, or just videos in general stored on the SD cards and DVD player.

But I still think this should be offered up free from Audi.

It's the least they could do.

along with an update that adds dynamic indication to the rear tail lights.

I added vim to my dads rs7 with a vag com cable. Among other things like being able to close the trunk with the key fob.

Pretty sure the s7 vim can be unlock with vag too

My system already allow me to miracast with VIM so I haven't try it, but OBDeleven has the code for 8V to allow VIM, and it's only $60, plus you can use longcode etc just like VCDS. Downside, only works with Android, no iOS version yet.
