New 2015 RS5 is Home
Drove to SLC and picked up the new RS5 arrived a week ago Monday but we could not retrieve until this Monday. Was supposed to arrive in 5 months and actually arrived in 4. Christmas came early.
Only have 500+ miles but I will give you my impressions. Wanted to have something different than the 2014 S4. Achieved that in spades.
The RS5 is MUCH faster...even at 10,000 feet above sea level. I knew the car was better in the twisties but didn't really want to push it with the salesman in the car. All I can say the car never hinted of breaking traction. the roads were dry but large patches od sand thanks to snow treatment by DOT. Lots of snow on the sides of the road. There was very little traffic on the road to Ashcroft and it was really fun. No bikes. None. Nada.
The car does not take the bumps on the road...especially at 80 MPH on the Interstate. Shorter wheelbase and stiffer suspension.
Really like the rear spoiler on the RS5. Pops up automatically at 72.5 mph and goes back down under 50 mph unless you raise it manually. It looks so great out the rear window when up. the design fits perfectly. Fanastic engineering. Looks good up or down.
Passing on the Interstate was no problem. Saw 102 mph and my wife could not believe we were going that fast...and got there pretty darn fast. The car was so stable and quiet...except hearing that 4.2L V8 with sports exhaust was music to my ears.
Very happy I got this car. A blast to drive. the BMW and Merc "competition" do not have AWD in the size and hp range. I need AWD living in Aspen. We put Mich Pilot SS all weather radials on and they work great on dry, snowpack and icy spots. Tested it today.
Let me know if I can answer any questions. Will give it my best shot. If I don't know I will say so.

Thank you all for the kind comments.
Went to the top of McClure Pass, into Marble and Ashcroft. Am amazed at the road holding in the twisted. Much better than our 14 S4 and it's no slouch.
