Low beam headlamp goes off

Low beam headlamp goes off
When headlights come on, everything is fine but after about 1 minute the driver's side headlight goes out and the low beam headlight warning light comes on. Before I take it in and the $ meter starts running, I was wondering if anyone else had this issue.

It sounds like this is a re-occurring issue?
If it is, it sounds like perhaps the ballast for that headlight is on it's way out.
However, you haven't mentioned the year, or whether it's halogen or xenon.
Headlight removal is a simple 3 bolt job to get at the ballast which is attached to the headlight's housing.
