Samoa Orange Metallic!
So, my wife was looking for an S5 Cabrio...
We knew we had to get a CPO because we couldn't swing the price of a new one, but it's not like there are a ton of them available within driving distance.
Pile on to that the fact that she couldn't find one in a color that she wanted and you can see how it was taking forever to find "the right one."
We eventually found a really nice 2012 at a local dealership. She liked the car, but again, wasn't thrilled with the color.
It was a dark blue (don't know what Audi calls it), with the saddle interior.
As we were test-driving the car, walking around the dealership and speaking with the salesman about this deal and that, it became obvious to me that she was settling for this car.
Buying an S5 Cabrio ought to be a REALLY enjoyable experience.
We're all car nuts, so I think you can relate when I say that it was almost sad to see her reluctantly buying such a fun car.
All because of the color.
Parked on the showroom floor near where we were sitting and talking about the S5 was an orange R8.
"Now, if it was the color of THAT car," she said, pointing at the R8, "that would be awesome!"
And that's how you take lemons and make some kick-*** lemonade.
Before...
Jammin'.
Spray booth.
AFTER!
Not only did the car come out great, but it's pretty cool to know you're not going to see a dozen other S5s in this color, since it wasn't offered from the factory.
Best of all the little lady is happy.
Happy wife, happy life.

Original color appears to be Deep Sea Blue with Tuscan brown interior.
Very different indeed.
Your now Samoa Orange metallic will blend in nicely with the Tuscan brown interior and your amber parking lights.
Post a pic of the car with the top down.

We picked up the car and drove it straight to the body shop, so I pretty much have no memory of the car as we bought it.
Here's a pic of the car with the top down (and Wifey waving "So long").

I'm glad you like it. Now only you know it was blue when you lift the hood.

Looks awesome! I'm also interested in knowing the cost.
I realize effect on resale value might be an issue (?), but I just picked up a brand new RS5 cab in Mythos Black and, if I thought it could be done really well, I might be interested in making her blue.

The cost was around $4200.
Beautiful job. You'd never know it wasn't the original color. Even under the hood ;-)
Sure resale might be a problem, but my wife tends to drive her cars into the ground anyway, so by that time it will be of little consequence.
