It's not under the seat itself, but rather under the driver's floor, about 10 inches in front of the seat rails. If you pull up the door frame trim, the carpet should pull up.

It does sound like you have a separate issue of a door switch not triggering. The nice thing about these Audis is that if you have a door or doors open, and lock the doors and arm the alarm, it will wait till you close all the doors before locking and arming, making the little beep. The next time this happens, go around the car and open and then close each door til you hear one beep.

I'll have to try that.

I did pull the carpet up, and see that mine has the black "protective" box on the ccm. Not sure what year started that. That could be good or bad. The padding on the back of the carpet well damp. If that's the case, moisture is most definitely trapped in the box. I'll have to pull the seat out to remove it. Can't deal with that until I finish the roof on my house.

Shouldn't have to remove the seat to pull the CCM. The carpet is a bit stiff, but you can squeeze the black box out. If you wanna pull the whole carpet to dry it out, that'll be a biiiiiiitch.

I wanted to pull the carpet on the drivers side to insure there is no standing water under the seat.
Oddly enough, the car has been fine for almost a week.

Glad to hear at least one problem might be resolved. I've been digging around on forums for months about my electrical drain problem, and found a bunch of other cases, but not one solved. We might be on to something.

Did you do anything to fix the water leak issue? Those drains up by the battery are easily clogged.

I haven't seen any clogged drains. I checked them when I changed the battery. Usually you end up with a good sized puddle when they clog. Like I said, mine just seemed "moist". I will run compressed air through them anyway.
Once I get the box out, I'll have a better idea if it was affected.

So, I've been ignoring this problem since removing the nav. unit, and I haven't had a dead battery.

Today while running some tests, I tried to get into 09 Cent. Elec. and it would not communicate. When I clicked over to the chassis tab, it would not connect to any of the modules. This is different from the Centr. Lock, which would be the "Convenience module"?
