Seems very high...ask for some local references on the local forum. Had mine rebuilt for just over 3200...including removal and install.

7500 is wayyyyyy too ****in high!!! you can buy one for half that!

If you are mechanically inclined you can do a transmission rebuild,but you need a lift and lot of time,because it's a bitch to remove the transmossion.
I got mine in my shop right now and i spend 15 hours for removed with the cradle lowered and i will spend 700$for the rebuild kit and fluid/filter.
The broken pieces of the reverse drum they stay out of the valve body and they collect into the oil pan,than you can still drive forward like nothing happen,but, the reverse will be out completely.
