Tiptronic problems?
The Tip on my 2.7 went out at 25K miles (lost 4th and 5th gears during high accleration on the highway). Audi put in a rebuilt Tip, but the same thing happened after only 1K miles. Audi has put in a 'new' Tip, but either I've lost confidence or the Tip seems to be responding with a lag in the high gears, which it didn't seem to do when it was under 25K miles. Feedback much appreciated!

This has sometimes been said rashly, but if I were you, I'd start thinking about . . .
trying to get a new car, if you're ever thinking of driving it out of warranty. My wife had a Subaru Legacy that had to have the block replaced twice. Each time after not being driven for an extended period. When she started this car under such circumstance, it made weird noises. I'm convinced there was a problem that was causing the block to fail. The first time they just replaced the block. The second time, they replaced the block, and fixed whatever was causing the damage to it. Two blocks within perhaps 10K is otherwise unfathomable.

Are you referring to the transmission or engine being chipped? Although the vehicle has not been chipped to date, I would have liked to when the warranty expired. Now with the Tip problems I'm thinking this may not be the car for me to do that with. But all said, I'm not sure why chipping or not chipping should be a concern. The engine is capable of well over 450 bhp and the transmission capable of withstanding more than 500 bhp; 40# boost and 525# torque.
