What are the chances of this not being a leaking bag? Is it worth trying to diagnose in hope of a cheaper fix?

Also, how hard is it as a DIY job to swap for Arnotts? Should I expect painful bolts that won't come loose?

I wish I knew the answer for you. That German ebay deal looks good too! All I know is my friend uses Arnott because they are less than an hour from here and have the lifetime warranty. He just replaced a 6 year old set with new under warranty, no questions.

I believe you should have a code to identify the issue, G78 or something rings a bell. I hope it's an easy deal for ya, I know that even at wholesale cost, I started sweating a little when I heard the price.

I should have added that they are reputed to be pretty nice folks, you might call them 321-868-3016

Spray some soapy water on the bags and watch for either bubbles or oozing. The two used Arnott bags I put on my 6mt a couple years ago started leaking slowly this summer. The soapy water didn't bubble, but you could see where air was moving it on both bags. The new Arnotts (the old ones were second-hand, so no warranty for me) look like better covers but plastic junk in place of aluminum on the top ends.

Replacement isn't too bad a job if you are lucky with the pinch bolts. Mine came right out because I had doused them a lot with antiseize. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

I would access the block that all of the air lines go into and get a vacuum tester, they are cheap at autozone and then do a vacuum test on that line. Maybe its that your pump neds to be rebuilt and is not as efficient anymore. rebuild kits are cheap on ebay.

Changing bags is only hard the first time !

Yes, the pinch bolts are/can be a pain. The rest is pretty straight forward and many a good DIY write-ups have been done which are a great help.

Budget a whole Saturday afternoon if you DIY.
