C4 Hatch Dome Light Bulb Access and Replacement
The intent of this is to prevent damage to the dome light and/or headliner when you are replacing the dome light bulb (or the switch, as in my case).
Here is where you start. In retrospect, I should have put some 2" wide masking tape on the headliner at the edge facing me (to prevent damage/marking to the headliner):
There is a spring clip in about the middle of the dome light edge closest to you. It needs to be pushed in while the edge of the dome light switch is pulled down. Slow and patient. I used a 1" wide putty knife. *IF* you use a flat bladed screwdriver, you will need to protect the fibreglas and foam of the headliner from being crushed by the blade of the screwdriver as you are pushing and prying.
Here is the dome light out of the headliner, showing the spring clip that you had to depress. Not sure about now but at one point the metal reinforcement for the headliner was a separate part.
Here is the dome light "festoon" bulb (PN N 0177252 L12V5W, not to be confused with the light bulb in the sunroof control panel, i.e. N 0177232, K12V10W).
For fun and future reference, here is the hatch attenna wiring for a no-phone situation. Just a coax cable and connector and a single power wire and connector.
Hope this helps somebody somewhere sometime.
