New to Audi
Wife wanted SLK 350, so I offed her Lexus RX350 (nice car but boring). Still needed an SUV in the stable. I cast off my German car basis to look at all possibilities. Macan too expensive (only a person that owns two Porsches has a bankruptcy wish) AMG ML63, too expensive, MBZ GLK fugly, AMG GLE 43, seriously just a four banger, Evoque same problem, Jeep SRT too expensive, Ford Explorer Sport, looks good on paper but reality is a let down, Nissan Q's too big, Volvo just a non starter. BMW X3 only 300hp from a 3.0 Turbo is weak and run flat tires suck. Land Cruiser, reminded me of a Ford Bronco fine in the dirt but a dog on the asphalt. I thought a SQ5 would be too expensive even used, but found a loaded 2014 with 11k on the clock for 45k. Not a steal but it got in under my max budget. First Audi, very impressed so far.

Welcome aboard...
… do you live in a place where exercising the Porsche Turbo is possible?
You will likely love the SQ5 - built from the same chassis as the Macan, but much more practical as the back can actually hold storage.

There is about a five mile divided four lane parkway close by. No on or offs, no traffic, wide sweepers, some up and down grade, and no place for 5-0 to hide. There's always the I15 to Vegas, just make sure you have radar lidar counter measures.
