Default New Audi Owner/Member - in 60 Miles Flat Tire

Hello All

I am proud to say that I purchased an 2012 Audi Q5, and I have done some research for the Q5 on this message board. I took owner ship of my Q5 about 2 hours ago. about 15 min from my house I saw the check tire pressure message pop up on the dash, when I got home I have a screw in the side of the rear passenger tire, smh.

I am happy that I purchased an Audi, not happy I need to get a new tire. Since this is a quattro drive do do I have to get the two rear tires replaced? Also has anyone had tires installed at a tire shop that instead of the Audi dealership?

Regards

It depends on how worn the existing tires are. If they are nearly new, you can replace the one tire. If the tires have more substantial wear, I'd consider replacing 2 if not all 4. There is a bit of allowable variance in tires though. I would replace the tire with the EXACT same type/size/etc as what is on the car already, if you are able to replace the one.

I got it as a CPO and both back tires had a tred depth of 9/32 of tread depth. Thanks for the insight. I'm not to happy about replacing 4 tires

9/32 sounds close to new. There may be a road hazard warranty that you can ask about. Any shop can change it if they have a wheel machine for alloy rims. Most shops have them.

If you can wait for the shipping, TireRack or Discount tire are well known for low prices.

Yesterday was a long day and I got it towed to the dealership and they stated that the 9/32 tire is close to new. The one tire was just replaced and they even took 15% off.
