A number of us have already swapped the parts for a manual folding screen.
Audi, VW, ?koda, Seat OEM & VAG parts oemVWshop.com
P/N : 8U0 857 273 B for the bin to replace NAR Q3s
P/N : 8U0 857 336 A for the back cover of the bin above
Shipping charge to the US is a flat €40. So I would suggest a group buy.
The swap also takes about 1 hour.
I can't take credit for this as a member at another Audi forum did the swap first.
Here's mine after the install with the new folding screen up and folded.

I just purchased a 2017 Q3 and dislike not having the option to turn off or stow the MMI screen.

But it was factory parts can't imagine any problems with it.
