Default Q3 Windshield Wipers

Bought a cobalt blue Q3 prestige late November. We just had our first snow of the season today and can't seem to figure out how or if one can pull the wipers away from the windshield while parked. Their too far below the hood when down to fold up and they don't stop when the car is turned off. Any suggestions?

I don't really know about the Q3, but on my A6, in the MMI under "car" there is a function named something like "wipers - service position". This stops them halfway up the windshield so you can change the blades, or in cold weather to keep them out of that recess/cave at the bottom. However, you have to take them out of that service position in order to use them as normal wipers. Good luck.

Shut down the engine, tap the windshield wiper stalk (down) and they should go into the service position. Also handy when you know your car is going to be snowed on.

Thanks to all for the quick responces. For the Q3 there is no wiper service setting in the MMI but tapping the stalk down with the engine off does bring the wipers up to the service position as stated above.
