Default That 'effing Pano!

Hi all,

I have been battling with my Pano roof ever since I bought the Q5 a year and a half ago - rattle, fix, wait, rattle, fix, wait, rattle.... I think I have had it at the dealer 6-8 times and while they usually fix the rattle, it comes back after a few weeks. The last time they tried to fix it we also ended up with a whistling sound coming from the roof - probably because they adjusted it too high.

SO, I have decided that it's time to fix this myself - but, alas, I have no idea how to adjust the Pano roof itself. Do any of you have links to a guide showing you have to adjust the height, tilt, etc. of the roof? Where are the screws, what things to remove, etc. I have tried Googling, but without much success so any help much appreciated.

pretty sure I saw an adjustment post somewhere on either AZ or AW - though may have been for the a4 avant.

if you're looking for instructions for lubrication - tsb as attached.

FYI, there's a TSB that my dealer told me about.
It involves adding new/more felt, and reseating the tracks.
Just had it done on my car no charge of course.

Sorry, should have mentioned - TSB has been applied and they have readjusted the frame several times. Those fixes work for a while but the problem always comes back - hence I'd like to try and fix this myself ;-).

Same issue with fix, rattle, fix, rattle. The Audi mechanic told me that the pano roof will never be able to handle all of the flex in the car body during everyday driving. It will rattle again. My 2012 Q5 also has a pano roof but the rattle is not anywhere as bad. Not sure if they changed anything in the design.

yeah, they could never fix that. I have 13, swapped out whole frame and still rattle like crazy.

Buy some enzeitt gummi pfledge and apply to all the rubber seals and the plastic underside of the glass where it tilts up. Apply generously. My sunroof was rattling once cold weather came and now silent. You will doubt this could be the solution to what sounds like knocking/ rattling but give this $10 solution a try before fixing again.

I haven't heard about the 'felt tape' TSB - do any of you have the details on that? Specifically where should I add the tape? The car is already taped over in lots of places so no harm in adding some more... ;-)
