My point is that when you let the car run longer so that it can reach and stay at full temp for some time, all the moisture and fuel dilution has a chance to boil off from the oil/engine. If you constantly just stop after 5 minutes, all that bad stuff just keeps on accumulating.

I see. Perhaps a warm up before setting off...you can get a remote starter I believe? Or a longer route? Not much else I can suggest although I would be surprised if you suffer any problems as you said you do longer runs at weekends etc.
