**** happens on occasion. No car maker is 100% reliable. That's what warranty is for.

I have owned many different vehicles. Had many issues covered by warranty. Even had two vehicles by the same manufacture at the same time. One had a tranny go out within 4 yrs. The other I have had for 16 years without any major issue. Go figure. My point is if the reliability is rated average or better, then it probably will hold up going forward. I believe the Audi transmissions are very complicated and are bound to have issues occasionally. However, you should be good to go with a new vehicle or transmission. I simply have not seen or been aware of Audi having a transmission problem. If they will not give you a new vehicle see if they will extend the warranty on your new transmission. If the issue continues, then when the warranty expires, get something else. But remember, drawing conclusions based on impulse reasoning may result in throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

That is unfortunate, seems like a pretty strong reaction on your part to what was likely a simple replacement and 100% covered via warranty

I agree with pretty much all the posters here. Cars are just a collection of mechanical and electrical parts. All parts fail eventually, some just faster than others. A transmission is a very complex piece of equipment and has many systems and moving as well as stationary parts.

Audi via your dealer took care of you and replaced the defective part under the warranty that came with the vehicle, I would just move on and consider this just a case of bad luck, not something that Audi did deliberately to upset you.

Have a nice glass of your favorite adult beverage and just move on.

You just had the long-odds misfortune of a bad one. While annoying on a new vehicle, I would hope your dealer gave you a free Audi loaner for as long as they needed your vehicle, said "we'll take care of it" and then they took care of it, you picked it up when it was done and went on your merry way. Don't let this lessen your enjoyment of a great vehicle. Be thankful you have great customer service behind your car and that this should have been a non-issue in the bigger picture. (at least, this is how it would have worked with my dealer. They probably would have given me something ridiculously fun to drive around like an S4 to make me feel better
