Default 2016 or 2017 Q5 Spare Tire

I should have checked when I did my test drives, what type of spare comes with the 2016 or 2016 Q5. I just remember the sale guys telling me the Q5 did not come with run flat tires like the MB GLC 300. Is a full size or compact spare. Thanks.

BTW - Did anyone consider the GLC 300 before going with their Q5.

It is a compact spare that you have to inflate with the included air compressor. It looks like this

Thanks. Anyone have experience having to use this compact spare. Any good? Does Audi have a recommended maximum distance you can drive with the compact spare.

Thankfully we never had the need to use this set up. It's kind of goofy, but better than nothing I guess.

I've never checked, but I wonder if there's room to put in a full sized spare in its place?

I've had to use mine once, worked fine. It's rated for the typical ~50 miles just like the non-collapsible compact spares. Not as nice as a full-size, or quite as quick as a compact spare (since you have to fill it with the included electric compressor), but it's functional.

Thanks for all the feedback to my original post. I guess it is better than having to by run flat tires.

Ive used it for 2 days, as said it works. It did trip off the TPMS low tire warning though.
