Default Hitch Receiver Question

Can someone please explain where the plug is at for my trailer lights connection? Do I need to remove the square plate? Should there not be a plastic cover on the left side of the receiver?

You have to remove the plug left of receiver and replace with connector.

The Pollak after market connector is identical (they probably make the Audi connector), and is considerably cheaper. This is the one I have on my Q7, and it works 100%.

Agree, and I believe the factory plug says Pollak. I'll look, I have a Pollak I added to the factory installed hitch on the 4.2, and a full Westfalia (aka dealer/factory) setup on the 3.6.

Do any of you know where the trailer detection modual is located on the Q7. Trying to instal hitch and get the right wiring for it. Pics would be great! Thanks!

It's behind the panel at the rear of the right side of the cargo area. You have to remove the floor to access it.

Thank you Dutch!

Now another question, do you know where I can order the wiring that comes from the back of the 7 pin harness? I can only find that when you buy the hitch thru audi. Maybe a part number? I am trying to get the trailer modual off of Ebay. Putting the four main pieces together and try and save some money is hard to do!!
