After a long journey, I cannot remove my master key from the key hole. The engine is fully switched off, selector in packed position. Also I can read from the computer please remove the keys yet I cannot remove it. Any help before I send it to someone to mess it up? Also there service is due display but I guess that should not hold the key.

Start it up and turn it off again. Shift in all the gears and back... Don't know why it would stay stuck if the battery is full

Try moving the steering wheel back and fourth a few time when the engine is off while trying to pull out the key at the same time...

Wrong answer Tatunka. It is not physically connected to steering column. The key is held electrically. It cannot be extracted if car is not registering in park except on EU models which have a pin push release. The problem is it cant be towed or locked. If memory serves...If you can connect a battery charger to the terminals under the hood the power will allow you to extract key. There were a few different faults that used to cause this problem including a faulty earth contact to the ignition switch itself.
Any resolution yet?
