I've got a Q7 with no hitch and no crossbars on the roof and I'd rather not drop the cash on either right now. Are there any of those hanging racks that attach with straps that work well with the Q7?

Short answer, no.


Do yourself a favor and before you destroy the paint on your tail gate and bumper, get a roof rack or hitch rack. You will thank me later.

I agree with him. It will wreck your paint, don't do it. Go with a roof rack or hitch mounted bike rack. Depending on how many bikes you plan on using, most roof racks can only support 2 bikes. Hitch mounted bike racks can hold up to 5 and sometimes more depending on the hitch and bike rack of course.
