Default Cleaning intake valves on the Q7

Anyone done this? Any useful DIY threads?

BG44 might help to prevent the problem but it will have to be sucked into the intake via a vacuum port. Putting it in the fuel will do nothing as it will never contact the area with the carbon. Only manual cleaning is going to correct that.
... with that in mind, is there Any benefit to using BG 44k on a 3.6 FSI Q7?

BG44 is a very good gas (not diesel) additive. I used it all the time on my Volvo 2.9l engine. It does clean and it does a good job for preventing carbon build up. I used it at every 4000 miles. Now if I had to go deep into the engine it will have to be a cel code or engine not running right or feel right.
BG44 will not fix a cel code but it can prevent it.

I already bought it, its just that with a direct fuel injection engine the 44k never touches the intake valve.

I was wondering if anyone knew how to go in manually and clean the valves individually.

it is not very difficult to do but it is time consuming and arduous. i opted to have a local independant shop perform this since they are better equipped and more experienced. it should run between 900-1400 depending on how badly they are choked. i had it done for the Q7, RS4, S5. all variants of the same engine/system.

there are several DIY for the B7 RS4 engine. very similar process.

if you do it yourself purchase all new hardware & gaskets. pour in two bottles (15g) of techron before the cleaning and perform an oil change after the cleaning and test drive.

(the techron is just a detergent for any leftover residue that may have been floating around. the injectors do not hit any valves so it will not help with the cleaning of them but any gunk or debris that may have found it's way into the system or around from the cleaning would be cleaned out.
