a7 or s4?
I've had my eye on getting an audi for awhile now, but having some trouble deciding which one. I like the a7, but it seems like a huge car on the outside.
Is there more interior driver side room in the a7 than the a4/s4 ? I ask because according to specs the a4 is only about 3 inches narrower.

The A7 both from the outside and inside looks and feels (and is) bigger. If you like the looks of the S4, you might also consider an A6. In literally every meaningful and measurable way, the A6 is the twin of the A7.
Once you are behind the wheel of an otherwise identical A6, you will be hard pressed to know you are not in an A7. The A6 when configured identically to an A7 is (from the inside) an A7 with $10,000 in the glove box.
The A7 is beautiful -- not that the A6 is fugly. But the cost of the beauty is just slightly south of $10K.
If you like the S4 you may find yourself liking the A6. If you are head over heals for the A7 (for its beauty), perhaps you might consider the new 4-door S5. I would suggest you would get the looks you like in an A7 and the performance you will find addicting in an S4 -- and probably save a bit or at least get an even more well equipped S5.
There are BRAND NEW A6's and A7's arriving in the US -- yet this calendar year.
If that is not of interest or you MUST HAVE the current gen A6 or A7 and you've got some financial flexibility, you might want to consider the "Performance A6" which is a fully loaded A6 (Prestige-like) sported up version of an A6 with a slight bump in HP and some styling cues that differentiate it from the more pedestrian model.
Performance? Looks? Body style? Some combination? You can be satisfied and then some with:
2018 S4
2018 S5 (four door version)
2017 A6
2017 A6+
2017 A7
2018 A6 - assuming you can wait a few months (third or fourth quarter)
2018 A7 - assuming you can wait a few months (third or fourth quarter)
So many choices. Life is short. And, that old standby: Patience is a virtue.
Personally I'd go for 2018 models, unless the 2017's have some really attractive deals available.
Drive it like you live.

What do you think is better about the 2018 a7's and a6's? Personally I can't stand the wheels that come with the non competition version 2017 a6's
I like the wheels on the competition version a6, but I'm unsure about a more rough and noisier ride with the sports tuned suspension.
