From what dealer did you order your Pearl White S4? My dealer (Prestige Imports in Denver) says there is no such option on the 2000 model year S4.

This world has enough unfounded rumors without people adding more....

FWIW, I asked my dealer about Pearl White yesterday. Apparently, there has been a short-term moratorium on shipping the color since there have been color match problems between the body and bumper skins. They will indeed resume production when they get it right.

All told, one can deduce that an S4 ordered today in Pearl White has an indefinite build date!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. My dealer said that it would only add a week to a car that was about to go into production. Cost is $1250. No more info.

I haven't been able to get a straight answer. My local dealer says he went up the ladder as far as the area rep - who knows nothing about pearl as an option.

Another dealer I checked with over the weekend also knew nothing. But they did add that Pearl White wasn't available in '99 on the A6 either - but to their surprise they received 2 of them in a shipment. I saw the one they still have on the lot.

So I continue to annoy my local dealer. This week he's supposed to go up the ladder over his zone rep's head, to see if he can get an answer. I have a silver/silver A4 in status IA and am being told "late September." But I'll forego that car if I can get one in pearl white, without having to wait more than a couple of months. I've owned four pearl quattro's already -- think I'm in a rut?

Well, actually no. I have not seen the rep since over a week ago. I was in my pearl 1.8, and she commented that my color IS available. I don't even know her full name. I remember specifically her saying this. My dealer in Dallas also confirmed this.
By the way, everyone seems to like the pearl, because the tell me all the time. It has held up very well, aside from chips and dings. Still beautiful and brilliant, and when it's clean, the wheels really set it off! Good luck.
