can you fix ECU's??
Is their any way to fix ECU's?? I had a wiring issue where my o2 sensor heaters + - wires connected due to heat. Got a new ecu unplugged o2 and the problem is gone. The old ecu’s one stock one with GIAC fried immediately when plugged in due to the bad o2 sensor. A code still comes up for a throttle position sensor and the car goes back to limp mode with both the old ecu's. i looked at the chip and thier is no sign of burning or sodder being seperated from the board... "BTW Audi quoted me for $4'000 said I needed an ecu and whole new engine harness, and LOTS of labor!!! I changed the ecu and o2 sensor costing me $300... Problem solved. take that stealership!" want to fix so i can sell them. the stock is worth 200, and the GIAC is easy 350! HELP PLEASE

The software (read chip) is still fine. I offered to look at someones fried ECU a while back and they never sent it to me. So although I doubt it, I have no way of knowing for sure.

If we had a schematic and parts list for the ECU, would help. If you shorted or overvoltaged some chip inputs, they may not show anything visually.
A friend one time asked me "Bruce, can you fix my TV?" Despite the fact I am an Electrical Engineer (as is complacentsee), very difficult to troubleshoot his TV without schematic, partlist.
