Default Has anyone

Ever experienced the symptom of the brakes locking up to the point that the car is VERY hard to even move and once they lock up it takes awhile (almost a day) before the pressure will come back down so i can even move the car. And once i have waited until the pressure has backed down and start the car to move it, within 10 seconds or so it will lock up all over again! . This is happening to mine and ive STFA and cannot find anything that helps me on this. I would atleast like to disconnect the abs so i can drive/move the car for now or atleast so i can take it to a shop to have it fixed. By the way, I have the abs unit (bosch 5.0 I believe) with the brain that is under the rear seat. The part that is attached to the hydraulic pump only contains the solenoids so I dont think replacing it will help. Some input is greatly appreciated.

I think you've got it spot on. Try disconnecting the 5.0 unit and see how it behaves. Unfortunately you cannot rebuild the 5.0 units, just the 5.1 units.

For future reference I have come upon shops that will repair the 5.0 for bmw's, which I believe is the identical control. Although I may be mistaken about compatibility.
