Default GuyT. Have You Got A UK Price For RS4 Yet? (more)

I have my order in for 'spring/summer' next year.
£45-£50k seems likely and i am told by David Alcroft that only 300 rhd examples will be made so residuals should be good for 21-18 months (max I keep a car).

As for priorities and numbers in queue I think Audi will play God based on customer profile. Having done 14K miles in the S4, swapped for TT, ordered RS4 and registerd interest in TTrs, i would hope that not living in London or not having had RS2 would not adversly affect Gods view!

AND BY THE WAY ANY PRE-PURCHASE DISSONANCE SUFFERING AMERICAN FRIENDS READING - THE ENGINE AND DRIVE TRAIN IN THE S4 ARE NIGH-ON BOMBPROOF IN MY EXPERIENCE. WARM UP, RUN IN AT 4000RPM FOR 1000 MILES, THEN VISIT REDLINE REQUENTLY. NO PROBLEM)

Default GaryC, read more + what is your email address we can keep intouch

Just like you I had a chat to David. Your rough guess pricing matches mine, David said they would have to keep the costs below the S6 but want to be able to as highly spec the car a possible thus keeping resale values high. (you don't get much trade in value on options added to the standard spec)I think the scheduling of the list will be an Audi art. Whoever is in favour will get the car first. Like you I have had 2 audis, a VR6, one loan S4 and my current S4 from the audi / VW group in the last 5 years.
Good to hear that there will only be 300 RHD models, a good friend of mine is an ex Audi salesman and he says that because the RS2 only had 170 RHD's the second hand costs were practically the same as new costs for up to 2 year old models!! GOOD NEWS

Default Re: You may be forgetting all the Euro taxes, Europeans pay a lot more than we do.

Over here we pay a little over $30,000 for a nicely appointed 2.8 A4, over in Germany and some other parts of Europe the same car cost a little over $50,000 (U.S). I'm betting the RS4 would run about $50,000 in the American market, that is if we ever get it. In Europe they tax on things like displacment and horsepower, etc. Most of the A4's you see in Germany are 1.6, 1.8, or diesel, It was rare to see a 2.8 or even a 1.8t. Some of this has to do with gas prices being about $4.50 a gallon and some of it is taxation on the part of the government.
