Power loss at 3500 rpm in 3rd gear
2001 S4 Avant, about 108k miles, MTM ECU, premium gas.
I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this. The car seems to go to redline in 1st and 2nd gear, but in 3rd around 3500 rpm under WOT it stutters/hesitates. A lot like hitting the rev limiter, it just starts cutting out.
It's pretty repeatable. I notice it most accelerating uphill.
Had the dealer look at it and they were not able to reproduce and did not find VAG-COM codes. Did a quick search here and didn't see anything.
Appreciate it!

The improved boot part number is 078 133 356T. The boot often tears at the lower edge under the large clamp which makes inspection diffcult unless the boot is removed from the throttle body. Also the tear in boot may not set any DTCs as the last the one I worked on in an Allroad did.
