Ordered a 2016 S6
I've been strongly considering the 2016 S6 as my next car for a while now, and after reading the S6 threads, I was absolutely convinced. I placed the order on Saturday. Prestige package, Mamba Black metallic (exclusive color), black sport seats, driver assist, Black Optic, S6 Sport, carbon inlays, and black headliner. Sales rep said it would go into production in November then will be here in January. Is the wait time that long? It's going to be an agonizing 6 months haha

Sweet. However, just for having an exclusive color, that usually tacks on a month or two. Just what Ive seen in my experience.

Congratulations...
… one consideration. The all black ensemble will be striking, but you might reconsider the Black Optic Package. A little brushed highlighting may give the big car a bit of sparkle. Will the exhaust tips be blacked out as well? Our new S4 and RS5 both have the Black Optic Package and while I like the look, I will likely not select it again for the next leases.
What a fabulous car you have chosen - enjoy

you are getting the car in january.
it comes with summer tires on the 20" wheels in the black optic package.
unless you live in Florida, California, Arizona, etc., i suggest you look into another set of tires, wheels, or both for the winter months.
personally, i have chosen to try all season tires on the 20" wheels.

According to earlier reports, the 20" Black Optic tire us the Pirelli P-Zero Summer performance tire.
According to Pirelli, that tire really doesn't like operating temps below 45 degrees. From the Pirelli warranty brochure:
"3. UHP Summer Tires
Rubber compounds formulated for ultra-high performance summer tires can lose flexibility and may develop random surface cracks at temperatures below 45° F. Therefore extra care should be used in handling tires below this temperature. These compounds are optimized for maximum dry and wet performance in warm conditions. Special tread compounds in these tires will have decreased performance, such as lateral and braking traction, at temperatures below 45° F or when driving on snow or ice. Therefore, it is recommended to install winter tires in these conditions."

So I've decided that, even though I too live in Cali and will only rarely deal with snow, because I will be need to do a fair amount of wet night driving below 45F, I've got to get a winter set of wheels and tires, and will go all in with real winter tires (Alpins) so as to never have trouble bluffing my way past chain controls.
