I've noticed when I'm in my garage my B9 A4 makes whine sounds at various times when I'm walking around it after having opened/closed a door. I think it also makes that noise when I send a remote lock/unlock command via My Audi just before it executes the command. Does anyone know what it is? It's faint in this video at about the 25 second mark, but much more pronounced in person.

I think it's the lock activating or something. I've noticed that sound too and I believe it is normal. Nothing to worry about.

I wasn't really worried, I just want to know what it is and what's causing it - what is the car doing that's making the noise.

These all sound normal. What you're referring to is likely the fuel pump priming itself in anticipation of setting off or working to cool down the tank after a drive.

Not the fuel prime, that's a different sound and happens when a door is opened.

It IS the pump and the throttle body doing an alignment in anticipation of driving.

Since your headlights aren't on it isn't ballast related noise.
