I dont have a vag com I have the audi factory scanners, a vas5051 and a vag 1552. The car is a 01 a6 with the 2.7tt. I can not communicate with any of the onboard computers. Scanner says module does not respond. I had a feeling something might be pulling down the bus so I started to unplug modules. I have unplugged the ecm, climate control, abs, I pulled the fuses for the door locks, I havent disconnected the abs or the trans yet. Am I wrong here? Any adivce would be appreciated.

Usually the diagnostic communication goes "through" the instrument cluster on models of this age, so if these "hang" it helps to pull the cluster fuse for quite some time to do a hard reset.

No aftermarket radio. I dont think its chipped. Even if it were i disconnected the ECU at one point. Ill try pulling the fuse(s).
