My car still won't pass emissions b/c the testing center's (garage) emissions system still can't talk to my VAG communications port. Originally I thought it had something to do w/the fact that my ABS ECU was dead (ABS & brake dashboard lights on), but I've since had my ABS ECU repaired. Granted my radio is still dead, but since it's in the 'OFF' position, it shouldn't effect the VAG communications (or lack thereof). So what do you guys recommend next? Do you think the actual communications port is faulty? We did successfully connect to it once or twice, via a cheapo OBDII piece of hardware, but typically get "NO LINK", which is obviously the same problem the emissions tesing center is having. Annoying!

Try unplugging the radio and the ABS controller.

You really should do some diagostics with VAG-COM too.

the fuse in my radio was blown. once i replaced the fuse worked fine
