I am new to this so please be nice. What can i buy to clear codes? I have 2008 tt roadster. Everytime I have an issue. Check light, top code reset, radio, etc... the dealer wants $100. and I'm on my way. Do the handheld units clear codes or reset them?

I have and see all kinds of hand held code readers, $50-$150. I know from past service records whats been reset. I was wondering if these could do the same?

Hand held scanner can pull basic codes and reset the MIL if they are compatible.

There is a LOT more you can do with VCDS.

Since your profile doesn't mention what year and model, here are some generic Audi entry pages:

2008 tt roadster,2007 a4 cab. Thanks for the info. I just want to clear airbag light and reset a fault on the top v/s pay dealer. Hagle about replacing $500.00 worth of sensors that will go bad again.

Cool site, just have to learn and see what I need. Rosstech, is that software overkill?

I am always recommending a Ross-Tech VagCom vs the Chinese competition which will only do a fraction of the things that the real one does,. Now, with that being said, here is one which does a great deal of things and can be carried in the car without needing to plug into a lap top : http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-All_Ro...canner/ES9950/
