survey: quiet and comfortable tire on 215/45/17?
both tires i've owned have been pretty noisy. bridgestone potenza re040s and toyo fz4s. do they have quieter and more comfortable riding tires? i have 17s. do i have to stick with 215/45/17 tires on my wheels? or can i get different sized tires to make the ride a bit more comfortable and quiet.
what alternatives do i have? or do i have to accept the fact that i have low profile performance wheels/tires?
please help! i'm a wheel/tire newbie...

Re: Dunlop P9000.
i heard these are great tires...but not that good on the lexus is300...which i have. they tend to pull to the right. not sure why. it's a common complaint.

What are the width of the rims?
I have 235/45/17s on my 17x8 rims, but if you have 17x7 rims, you may want to stick with the 215s. 17x7.5, and you could probably get 225s, but they may rub.

Well......
my stock rims were 16x7, and came with 205/55/16, and I mounted 225/50/16s on them. the 225s looked "poochy" and it would be even worse on a lower profile tire.
You should stick with the 215/45/17 tires.
