is there any difference between the dunlop 8000 and 8000E except for the rim protector on the E?

Default is there any difference between the dunlop 8000 and 8000E except for the rim protector on the E?
there is a major price difference but i can't tell if they are all that different, any one know?

Default I thought the 8000 had rim protector too.
I think the E had more silicon in it.
