The Audi eMTB has debuted with an integrated electric motor and a cool look inspired by the Dakar-winning RS Q e-tron.

While Audi may have dialed back its EV ambitious as of late amid falling demand – much like almost every other automotive brand on the planet – the e-bike business is booming, particularly on the high-end of the spectrum. Thus, we’ve seen a number of bicycles emerge from automotive brands as of late, with even Porsche getting in on that particular game. Now, Audi has joined in as well thanks to a new partnership with the Italian e-bike manufacturer known as Fantic, launching a brand new electric mountain bike with a pretty cool livery inspired by the Dakar Rally-winning RS Q e-tron.

Dubbed the Audi eMTB, this new two-wheeler is based on Fantic’s XEF 1.9 Factory enduro e-bike and touts a lightweight aluminum frame, which is designed to offer riders a more relaxed position perfect for mountain biking. It rolls on a staggered set of 29 inch front and 27.5-inch Mavic tubeless-ready wheels and Vittoria e-bike-rated off-road tires, and is supported by a fully adjustable suspension offering up 180mm of travel thanks to a coil-sprung Öhlins TTX22m.2 rear shock and an air-sprung Öhlins RXF38 m.2 fork.

Shifting duties for the 1×12 drivetrain are handled by SRAM’s GX rear derailleur and bar-mounted shifter, working across an 11-51-tooth rear cassette. Stopping power is provided by Sunstar Braking’s F.I.R.S.T. calipers and S3 Batfly rotors (220/203mm F/R). In terms of powertrains, the Audi eMTB utilizes a Brose S-MAG 250-watt motor delivering up to 90 Nm of torque, resulting in four levels of electric assistance at speeds of up to 20 miles per hour.

The bike’s 720-Wh, 36-volt lithium-ion battery pack is housed within the frame for a sanitary look, and delivers an estimated range of anywhere between 12 and 90 miles, depending on what mode one uses and the terrain they face, plus how hard they lean on the electric assist, of course.

Deliveries of the Audi eMTB are set to begin this summer, with an MSRP set at $9,795. Customers interested in purchasing one will be able to do so via the Audi Genuine Accessories website, along with a variety of accessories including jerseys, shorts, gloves, water bottles, and of course, bike racks, so that one can haul their Audi bike around on their Audi vehicle in true style.
