Default Audi BSG recall

It feels like a monumental achievement, sort of like graduating college?

BSG recall completed. Hopefully no more issues with this! Interestingly enough this recall includes the SW update to the latest version too. I confirmed this via OBD11.

Awesome news, can’t wait to get it done myself. And finally start using stop-start during ACC around town.

I'm not so sure though whether or not this is a fix because the recall mentions that this is for MY19-MY20 and is due to start-stop functionality not working properly which leads to higher emissions...

Personally I'm still killing auto SS at every drive but hopefully this resets the clock? Only time will tell, I guess...

I'm hoping this is just the lawyer cats at work hiding the recall (fix for BSG) due to emissions reasons.

Glad you got it done. Just curious why did they replace the coolant?

I know it's part of the process as per the Erwin manuals but I'm guessing here: The BSG is cooled via the coolant so I guess when they pop out the unit all of the coolant falls out as it's using the main reservoir?

Anyway I got to watch them bleed the system, it was really cool. Depress brake, let go, depress brake, floor the car. No idea why that is but it's pretty cool

Thanks for the explanation. I had no idea the BSG is cooled by the coolant system. Learned something new today!

Wow, it just dawned on me the software versions went up by a ton. This is one of the latest (I don't think it's the most recent one) TSBs: https://www.tsbsearch.com/Audi/27-23-57

Note software version 527. The one per the WO and OBD11 that was just uploaded to my vehicle is 562. That's quite the version jump.

Is this a recall for everyone? Or just for people with BSG failures?

... and just owners in the US. Not the UK, Germany or other markets...?
