Default 2004 A4 1.8t Upgrades

I have heard a lot about all of the different things that can be done to the 1.8T Engine. However all of this from sales people (no disrespect) however I would like to hear first hand from the actual owners what are the mods recommended to begin with?
Air Intake - What Type
Chip - I have heard of several

I know money is the limit and I am on a budget so what gives me the most for the buck?

Thank you.

Default Leave the air intake alone. APR, GIAC, ASP, EPL, Revo (crap)...

They are the chip tuners. They all are good for the most part. APR and GIAC are the most popular. Get a 710n Diverter valve while you chip. Costs 3x.00 dollars.

Default Re: 2004 A4 1.8t Upgrades

How much of a performance would I see with the Chip and the new Valve? from 170 HP to 200HP ?
Is it going to pin me in my sit while I accelerate?
I just have heard all of this performance stories but since I am on this forum I would like to get an Idea of what to expect...

Default What are you talking about? the air intake still?

Reply in the subject line.

Leave the intake stock. It works better than Cold air intake, and wont fvck up your MAF.

Default chip it. I am happy with my APR 91 program, it's ~$500. Dont mess with the airbox.

The chip will not make your car crazy fast. It will make it where it should have been from the factory. Faster, but a stock V6 Accord is still gonna be quicker.
