Advanced timing sensor at back of engine?

Default Advanced timing sensor at back of engine?
I have a 2001 1.8t a4. I need to replace the sensor at the back of the engine on the top behind the intake. I believe it is called the advanced timming sensor. I cant find it anywhere anyone know of a different name or where I can get one? Thanks Jayme

Default how about a picture...
the only thing that I can think of is the solenoid on the camshaft chain tensioner

Default FWIW - the hall sensor on your crank is tyhe primary, the cam sensor is secondary
Kind of like a double check.

Default not a double check at all.
Its the only way to have non batch fire fuel injection and non waste spark ignition.

It needs to know exactly which cylinder is where.

Does cross check seem a better phrase then. Hall sens. tells it when to fire and CPS tellls it which

Default its not really a cross check.. you need both for the system to work.
because they are telling it two different things.
