Car whinning at Idle. Please help.
Car is making these weird noises while idling... Ie ticking/whinning noise. I think it might be alternator because the sound sounds like it's "sparking" something sometimes? When I turn off the compressor on my AC, it goes away sometimes for 2 seconds and comes back right after. It's been on and off.... it does it sometimes and it doesn't sometimes... Running a ln1 code right now if that matters any. ln1 is service interval so it shouldn't even matter. I haven't been able to pin-point where it is coming from.

Don't know about the noise but ln1 is just an interval set in the ECU and doesn't signify anything
wrong. Just a reminder to get your service done.

The bearing in your A/C compressor is likely on it's way out...(more)
Mine was doing the same thing when cold. The noise continued as I drove off for the next mile or two. It almost sounds like an exaust leak. I would suggest getting a new compressor($), I don't think you can just by the clutch for it.
