Default The dealer is going to charge a guy I work with $430 to clean his EGR valve

on his A6 12v. Does this sound right? If it was me I'd do it myself but he cringed at that thought. Thanks!

Default That's what I was thinking. They said they have to take the top of the engine apart?

Does the Intake manifold need to come out?

Default They need to move the expansion tank out of the way & possibly remove the throttle body

I did mine Monday, not worth spending $430 for someone else to clean IMO.

Default If he doesn't want to attempt it himself have him find an independent shop

I am sure that price will most likely get cut in half.

Default If you remove the intake manifold it takes a lot longer. I am sure that is what the dealer will do.

Doing it without removing the intake manifold probably two hours tops + 2 gaskets.

Dealer always make something easy, sounds difficult. More time = more $$$ for them
