The dealer is going to charge a guy I work with $430 to clean his EGR valve
on his A6 12v. Does this sound right? If it was me I'd do it myself but he cringed at that thought. Thanks!

If you remove the intake manifold it takes a lot longer. I am sure that is what the dealer will do.
Doing it without removing the intake manifold probably two hours tops + 2 gaskets.
