ECT sensor ?'s
my check engine light started coming on last winter, i had it tested by a local garage(closest audi dealer is over an hour away) he said it came back as a faulty code and he couldnt really do much, long story short... after some research I decided that it had to be a bad ect sensor, called and had one delivered, it was the correct one, so i changed it, well 2 weeks later my check engine light is still on and my temp guage is still eratic, i heard somewhere that there are actually 2 ect's on the 12v but i hope that isnt true cuz the first one took me 2 days to find(no bentley manual) and almost 2 hours to change(very tight quarters). Any thoughts?

i didnt run the test...
a local garage ran it and i dont know the exact code, although he said it had something to do with the coolant temp. i decided to change the ect sensor after reading several posts about how common the ect senosr failure is and the symptoms that the car would have if it did fail-ie. eratic coolant temperature and check engine light on and off

There is a list of people that have VAG-COM that can help you out but I forgot where the list is, if you are in austin, tx, I can help u.
Your car apparently has more than 1 more trouble codes, IMO. That's the thing that you want to make sure.
