Default I should know this but I don't

What type of tool/apex bit do I use to remove the MAF sensor screws with? They're just like a torx, but they have that pesky little prong sticking up in the middle.

Default I saw a set with common sizes for about $12 at Kragen

My local ACE carries single bits.

Quite a few local hardware places now carry them.

Default Major PITA Torx tamper-resistant... I don't even use the Torx bit any more....

just break em free with a pair of small needle-nose pliars then unscrew by hand. Replace em with 4x12mm stainless (or not) button head screws.

With the dozens of MAfs I see each month that have been sitting in coastal salvage yards the Torx just rounds a hole. The needle-nosed pliars havent failed me yet.

All my over-priced Stage 3 MAF's come with all new stainless hex (allen) fasteners ;-)

Default No, but.......

its where I bought mine several months ago.

At the time, only place I could find, and at a good price.

Default Re: over-priced Stage 3 MAF's? Up-coming price reduction sale? ;O)

Just kidding!

I know & understand your time, & efforts involved in producing those "custom" items!

IMO, they are the standard by which all others should be judged. Well worth their price.

Keep up the good work Mance! :O)

Default I'll take 2 then!

Seriously though, that's gonna be my next mod if my wife doesn't make me get rid of the A4, but I'm gonna wait until I get settled in my lovely new home in SD.

Default hehehe I should make a half-priced one with half the sampling tube remaining...

the "wrong" half of coarse and the screen tig'd in. Then charge 75% more to finish it.

Stage 2.5: $75
Stage 2.5-to-Stage 3 conversion: $325

with all new stainless hardware ;-)
