Longshot, but does any have an s3 recovery sleeve they want to part with?

Sorry, I never noticed that post...
Unless you can thread the joiner like Mance did, then I dont see how you're going to secure the barbs...I ground the barb on the inside of the joiner down as far as possible, while retaining a solid grip on the joiner, so it sticks out ~1-2mm. I also tried to contour it to the best of my ability to encourage air flow. Also, I did not install a barb for the vacuum hose.
Shoot me an email if you come up with anything.

I'm going to do the epoxy ring tomorrow.. Hopefully can do the drill & tap the day after, will..
post some pics along the way. I hope it works! I think I have to put a barb in for the vacuum line, my stock setup has one... I read that Mance sent out 'caps' (nipples) to put over it, but I have to search more to find out why, and if that was for all the 12v's out there.

I had a similar idea...
But I was planning on take a thin aluminum metal pipe and finding a 1" wide X 1/4" thick aluminum ring to slide over the thin pipe which would serve as the joiner. I was then planning on fixing the outer ring to the inner pipe with epoxy and tapping through thick ring. At least this way I would be tapping through solid epoxy. I just need to find a cheaper source for aluminum pipe than I've found to date.

I tried to find that outer ring, all I found was a steel pipe that....
didn't work in the end. Would have had to use too much epoxy, so just skipped the steel pipe. Sadly, I am stuck with a structural steel pipe, 3.5" OD X .3" wall X 2.9" ID. ( I thought I would cut 2 pieces, fit them around the pipe, and use epoxy for the gaps). Anyone want it? ;-)
