Make some noise for Mobil 1!
I just took care of some leaks in my newer '94 100 CSQ. I was loosing about 1.5 quart every 3000 mi. So after inspection I decided to replace the upper/lower oil pan gaskets. While I was lowering the subframe I noticed my right front ball joint was sloppy and replaced it too. I have a smaller leak still from my right side cylinder head at the vacuum pump block-off. Luckily the oil pump flange gasket and the oil sensor tee and oil pressure sensors were not showing signs of leaks. The block actually looked pretty clean for a '94 but cleaning the crud from the pans as well as the constant dripping from the lower end on my upper end was none the less a bitch. So now I began to use M1 and hopefully enjoy extended service intervals (F*@k that belly pan). I also got rid of the weird resonant vibration I would experience @ 65-70 while turning a slight, precise angle. Felt like the strut insert was loose inside the cartridge (temporarily; not possible) or a flat spot in my damper's travel. Turned out to be the ball joint. Makes sense. But the biggest thing is the noticable change in drivability. It's not drastic but feels like I just maybe added good fuel system cleaner or did a tune up at 60K. Maybe reduced friction, maybe better valve actuation from the hydraulic lifters? Dunno. I also noticed a much queiter engine when cold. I'm very impressed overall. I was using crappy stuff sinse it was just leaking continuously, don't care to share how crappy. M1 is not cheap but I think it is well worth it. Worth fixing leaks to use this stuff. I will now focus on the driveline and replace transaxle and rear diff. oils with Royal Purple Gear Max 75w90. Once I have a solid, maintained vehicle, I would like to do a basline dyno run and take advantage of my car being stock still. I don't know where to go for it though. I live in RI. Yarrowsport close by has sold their machine to someone in CT. They told me of a place in MA, KTR performance I think. I'm finally ready again for some serious 12V modding **** and school started again. That sucks. Slow and steady. Long live the 12V.

I'm in my senior fourth year of the five year program. It sucks but I will only have one class for each semester next year [MCE 401 and MCE 402] because of some requirement bull****. I guess I will be taking many electives to fill in the time. I plan on the turbocharging, tribology, and vibrations courses. Perhaps some independent study with Faghri on exhaust system flow. Dunno. You?
