How old are your 02 sensors? Spark-plugs? Air filter?

Does it stall at idle or while driving?

Default it stalls at idle, like when i wait at a light. Moving the shifter around keeps it from stalling

sometimes.

I changed the plugs in June. I have a K&N airfilter, it looks ok....I just never cleaned it though, its about a yr or 2 old. 02 sensors I never changed them.

Default I addition to what MikTip said, I'd add the Idle Control Valve and the MAF sensor...

to the list of main suspects.

Default From the shifter thing...its odd...but maybe you have a bad pressure plate or something in the...

clutch and its not fully disengaging, or youre not keeping the clutch all the way to the floor. other that the electrical things the guys already said, i have no idea why moving the shifter would affect it unless its the clutch grabbing and stalling the car for some reason?

Default But he said moving the shifter worked only sometimes

If the clutch were not completely disengaged, wouldn't he feel that?

Default Maybe he has an automatic, puts it in neutral, ....

which decreases the load on the engine. Let us know what type of transmission you have!

I would add the two vacuum hoses that attach to the throttle body to the list of main suspects - these get heat-rotted quite often on our cars, caused this same problem on mine. I replaced my vacuum hoses with 3.5 mm silicone.
