RON to Octane conversion?

You have to be specific
"Octane" is an arbitrary number based on a formula that is not always the same.
My '96 requires fuel with an AKI of 87 or better. That is the same as fuel with a 91 RON. 91 AKI (95 RON) is recommended.
That means that regular fuel (87 AKI), mid-grade (89 AKI), and premium fuel (91 AKI) as available in California are all useable. Use of 91 AKI fuel is preferred.
.....USA (AKI/PON) = Europe (RON)
Regular........... 87 = 91
Plus................ 89 = 93
Premium......... 91 = 95
Premium Plus... 93 = 98
